Melitaea cinxia ssp. castiliana

Hello

I have some caterpillars of Melitaea cinxia ssp. castiliana (Spain) to exchange (dried-live stock) or 20 caterpillars 10€. They feed on Plantago, Veronia and Centaurea.

All insects form Spain are under protection. Have you some authorizations?

I believe that there is an error of understanding.

In Spain all the insects ARE NOT under protection, but every one who want to get some butterfly, beetle, spider ... some fly, need an specific authorizations (I think you make reference to this) This is the way that the government of each community know that the insects are captured and where.

I have authorizations for many Comunities here in Spain for my studies and every January i send a letter to the government with the butterflies and beetles i saw the year before and where.

About the insects under protection,in Spain we have "The red book" with all the insects under proteccion, and M. cinxia is not in this book.

Il a raison...

Les espèces ne sont pas protégées mais la chasse est interdite sauf autorisation.

Il peut très bien chasser sans autorisation ( à ses risques et périls) une fois le papillon en sa possession il n'y a pas de protection particulière.
