Hi,

I collected many cocoons in wild of Samia cynthia walkeri.

Cocoons are fresh so I will wait about a week before shipping in the way to be sure that pupae in the cocoons are hardened enough for the travel.

Cocoons were found on Ailanthus altissima and they are very large and healthy. I will send also GPS coordinates from where they were found.

Price: 3,00 euro each or discount on more than 50, 100 cocoons
Shipping cost: it depends by the amount of cocoons that you want. If you can be interested, send an email with the number of cocoons and I will tell you the shipping cost for them.

This cocoons will hatch in May-June 2017

Payment: in advance with paypal (+5% fees) or bank transfer

Hello Fabio,

Obviously Easter eggs are numerous this autumn, I just hope you intend to breed non-consanguineous generations in 2017 to compensate the taking into the wild. Actually a biologist and I are trying to reintroduce a new strain in Italy each year in the places where it disappeared. But maybe it doesn't take place in Italy?

Hello Chouch,

here in my area Samia cynthia walkeri have been always present from the past. The cocoons that I sell are collected along ditches and river sides where, during winter, public administration send tractors in the way to clean up from Ailanthus. So those cocoons would be killed if left in the wild.

I don't breed Samia cynthia walkeri, I collect cocoons in winter and then half of the cocoons (if they are too much) are put in wild in May in the way to protect them.

Fabio I'm really glad some populations still exist in your place, if ailanthus are being destroyed you are right to save what you can. If you want to exchange on your observations with the other Italian specialist I can give you his name in a pm.
